Responsibilities:
The focus of the Applications Engineer is to lead projects developing turnkey process for CNC turning, milling, grinding and automated loading systems.
This position will integrate machining cells. These machining cells may include CNC lathes, CNC machining centers, CNC grinders, automation, conveyors, robotic units, pick place units, vision systems and lases gauging.
The Applications Engineer will lead the project working with customers, vendors, CNC programmers, controls engineers and support associates.
The main criteria is strong CNC machining experience.
The Applications Engineer will plan the project and work with team members to develop turnkey machining cells.
Experience conducting capability, run at rate and CPK studies is needed.
Perform machine programming per customer specifications
Phone support for troubleshooting; daily and heavy at times
Will be trained on applications tasks and responsibilities.
Travel required; typically same day to assist customers. Occasionally overnight or
two day stays required
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in programming, Setup, and operation of machine tools specifically Miyano (Citizen helpful) machines
Knowledge and applications of machine tool products, options and functions
Mechanical and electrical experience preferred in CNC Machine Tools
Past experience working with high speed equipment, automation, robotics and inspection equipment is preferred.
Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers or Applications Engineer with strong CNC machining skills should apply.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
