Position Overview:
Assist in-house attorneys, patent agents and senior paralegals in all aspects of contract generation and patent prosecution review and docketing.
Job Details:
Contract Related
Assist in ensuring agreement requests from internal stakeholders are timely addressed.
Identifying appropriate agreement type needed for common situations, and prepare first drafts for internal review prior to stakeholder review.
Editing agreement drafts in alignment with internal stakeholder instructions.
Track, docket and archive agreements created for a variety of the companys various divisions.
Patent Related Responsibilities
Preparing and filing forms and submission documents for domestic and PCT patent applications with USPTO and WIPO receiving offices.
Preparation and submission of various items, including declarations, certificates of correction, corrected filing receipts, assignment recordation papers, etc.
Preparing office action shells and gathering references as needed.
Tracking of inventor awards.
Managing invention disclosure docket
Patent Review Board management, including: (i) maintaining meeting preparation, (ii) meeting setup and coordination, (iii) sending out reporting emails to inventors and participants, and (iv) follow-up on action items as identified.
IDS preparation/management/filing including related reference tracking.
Coordinate, correspond, and file all matters pertaining to foreign counsel.
Monitoring, updating, report creation and reporting
Reminding internal and external clients as needed
Communicate consistently and accurately with internal and external stakeholders.
Administrative duties to include but not limited to scanning and uploading PDFs, as needed.
Assisting with matter management.
Continuously appreciate and improve department mechanisms for efficient, timely and accurate
operational effectiveness.
Tracking legal expenses for overall department management
Position Requirements:
Must have Paralegal Certification from an ABA approved school or Bachelors Degree in a field related to law, administration or liberal arts.
Proficiency in at least one commercial docketing software, with a willingness to learn Thomson IP Manager.
Performs paralegal work requiring knowledge of legal terminology and an understanding of legal processes and procedures.
Strong MS Office suite skills, especially MS WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT.
Fast and accurate typing.
Self and department organization and management, including personal time management
Following instructions, with critical eye for detail
Great communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated proficiency in at least one widely adopted docketing software package
Conversational in German; Proficient in reading and writing in German a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
